Does anyone know if the Nike+ attachment will work with an old school mini? Mine's about 3 years old, and I wanted to upgrade to a video iPod, but I heard the Nike+ only works with the Nano. Didn't know if it applied to the mini, too. Does anyone use Nike+? Would it be worth it for me to buy a Nano instead of the video so I can use it? I'm starting to train for a 10-miler and I think it could be helpful.

It only works with the nano and supposedly only with certian nike running shoes. I've never used it, but I know a few people who hate it.

Why do you want it? To keep you on pace, for heart rate, or milage? I would suggest getting a good watch instead. But thats just me.

And becareful about getting too relied on music. Most races don't allow headphones on the course. Many officals choose to ignore that rule, but especially if you in the top of the runners, they might get picky. And please please please tell me... you aren't going to be running in the street with headphones on, are you? It would make me I've seen runners get hurt that way.

I mainly want it because I'm getting back into running after a few years of injuries and I've heard it was the easiest way to keep on pace. I typically run trails in a nearby park, so I'm not in the streets.

I'm thinking about getting one of the refurbished 4g Nanos. If I get that, an armband, and the Nike+, it costs about $10-15 more than the new 4g Nano. I might go check out the local running shop to see what they have to say about it, too. I'm sure someone there has used it.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone

I wanted to get the Nike+ too, but I only have a mini

My friend has been running for years and she got the Nike+ attachment for Christmas and loves it. She doesn't have the shoes though - she just cut off the finger of an old knit glove and put the chip in there. She sewed up the top and put it underneath her insole.

Yeah, I have a video iPod and I wish I could use the Nike + system for mine. I've heard all really good reviews. The video iPod is far, far too bulky to run with (I swear it's slowed me down!) and I'd like to have something to listen to while I train (indoor track).
