Wow - after accusing the media of trying to paint him in an unfavorable light, and stating that he wouldn't leave for Alabama, Nick Saban took the Alabama job.
I love it when people accuse the media of trying to create a situation, and then go ahead and create the situation themselves. Guess Saban can now go in the Dennis Erickson/Steve Spurrier/Pete Carroll category.

With the millions of words written and/or spoken daily in the media, some are bound to be wrong and some journalism will be bad...BUT...
The very easiest way to deflect criticism or blame is to blame the media.
It's been the thing to do for years.

Exactly, and maybe I'm a little sensitive to it because I used to be a journalist/sportswriter. Either way I think it's funny when things turn out like this.

Kansas State - Lost, #16 Rutgers
--- The Big East's weak Bowl lineup led to a HUGE discrepancy in this game. K-State never had a chance as soon as the match up was announced.
Missouri - Lost, #24 Oregon State
--- Don't know enough about this one to say anything.
Nebraska - Lost, #10 Auburn
--- Nebraska dominated this game in most aspects, however, a early risky play led to a short-field turnover for Auburn which ended up winning the game.
Oklahoma - Lost, #9 Boise State
--- BSU had something to prove in this game. No excuse for OU, but they were clearly more talented, just BSU wanted it more.
Oklahoma State - Won, Alabama
--- This was a pretty good bowl game OSU ended up winning on a field goal.
Texas - Won, Iowa
--- Struggled early but ended up finding a way to win, just as a team with their talent should.
Texas A&M - Lost, #19 California
--- Crapped the big one.
Texas Tech - Won, Minnesota
--- A pretty close match up in terms of talent led to the greatest early bowl game their was.
3-5 is bad, but doesn't say it all. A better way to look at it is how the Big XII did against the spread. However, the Big XII was just lousy this year against ranked competition all year long - not a single NonCon win over a ranked team all year long if I remember correctly.

Notre Dame is now 15 years without a bowl victory...
I'm such a bad Catholic for enjoying that.

If Notre Dame was playing a Service Academy in the Sugar they would have been just fine.

Well, with that little fracas between Ohio State and Floriday only a day away, it's time to focus on the real contest of the week, the famous GMAC Bowl between my Ohio University Bobcats and whomever they play. Oh, yeah, Southern Mississippi.
Let's hope Solich and the 'Cats can win the big one.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled program...
