i loved the movie, though i didn't expect to.

and it's also great going to the movie theatre with unwanted commentary for the whole movie. some chic pulled out her cell phone and talked for a good couple of minutes...loudly.

oh and i also enjoyed the "in-movie" sing-along.

Okay I thought the movie was okay. I think that is because I don't like musicals, so I may be bias.

JHudson did her role though for someone who has never acted she did an awesome job, she deserves to win the Golden Globe and an Oscar.

Beyonce did okay, but I think her character was supposed to have no depth and if that was what the intentions were then she did fine.

I agree with the Eddie Murphy comments and "sexual chocalate" I think I read that on here before I saw the movie so it was already in my head.

The movie is being shown in only the black area movies around here. I had to pass three theatres to see the movie.

Quite aware of that. My shock was moreso at the wide disparity between Dreamgirls (less than 1000 theaters) and the museum movie (more than 3500 theaters). Dreamgirls isn't Menace II Society or Stomp the Yard; it's the movie version of a popular Broadway musical.

That was opening day. Plus, how many movies are released on a Monday? Mostly Friday, maybe a Wednesday. So, that gave the movie time to make up for the limited screens available.

I think that $9 million is good, but when I think how much more it could have made had it been available on more screens across the country is what is shocking to me.

Was that DreamWorks' decision? Or,the theaters?
Does/Did Tyler have issues like this with Lion's Gate?
