Not necessarily so... granted, gambling is the lifeblood of Sin City, but there are many things to see and do without having to pull on a slot machine or throw a pair of dice.
Hoover Dam - longest elevator ride for a dollar!
Drive up to Mt. Charleston (and watch the terrain and scenery change from desert to pine forests halfway up the drive).
Red Rock/Valley of Fire.
Lake Mead
Among other things...

nothing but gambling...
GeekyPenguin--my husband felt the same way about Vegas until he went with me when I ran the marathon there--we spent 2 days and did absolutely no gambling or even partying (kind of hard to party when you have to be up at 4am to race!)--we just did some of the touristy things around the strip--after that trip he was willing to go back...now wouldn't you know it, he even looks forward to gambling. I will say, it is a lot more fun to gamble with a group of people you know--especially for beginners.

I miss Vegas!
I haven't been since November. Every weekend I get the urge to just keep heading north on the 15 for a mini trip.
My mom got a great offer from TI and I got a great offer from MGM! I can't wait to get to work tomorrow to figure out if I have the vacation time to swing two Vegas trips this summer on top of my trip to Virginia for my friend's wedding.

I LOVED VEGAS the first time I went.
I went for work, but I was there about a week, and definitely had some play time.
I'm going later this week for a long weekend trip with some girlfriends... we're going to get into all kinds of trouble

I just got back from my graduation trip to Vegas. I've been there four times, but every time I go it's so exciting because there's always something new!
I loved our hotel (New York, New York!), since I've never stayed there before.
The HIGHLIGHT of my trip was seeing "Tony n' Tina's Wedding' (dinner show)@ The Rio! I highly recommend this show because it's hilarious.

DH gave me a trip to Vegas for Christmas. I've never been, and the only thing I know we'll be doing is seeing Blue Man Group. Any tips or websites out there for a first-time non-major gambler who wants to see everything? Any tips (other than going Priceline) for getting a good hotel at a decent rate?
