I don't know. If I label something as an actual fact, my assesment is usually objective. I might omit every single detail because I'm not sure about them, but if I see enough primary evidence, I'll accept some things as facts and not opinions, especially in the scientific realm. Then, it is a fact until proven otherwise. What was the thread about again?

We aren't talking the natural sciences here--of course some of that is also subjective and a social construction.

We're talking about "historical facts" of which the exclusion or inclusion of certain details and standpoints can make a helluva difference.
