Delt colonization report...
Expansion Update
The expansion team at Appalachian State University wrapped up its efforts when it pledged 70 new members on Saturday, Nov. 11. The men represent sophomores, juniors and seniors. An academic leader in the fraternity world, the colony continues to promote the values of Delta Tau Delta with a 3.14 composite GPA, the highest on campus.
The men of the ASU began their efforts with a six-hour retreat on Sunday, Nov. 12. The retreat focused on goal setting, vision, crafting a mission statement and discussing hurdles to the colony's success.
In other expansion news, the Delta colonization at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor concluded Oct. 12 when the Fraternity pledged 53 men with a composite GPA of 3.3.
The Gamma Tau colonization at University of Kansas completed Sept. 28. The colony began with 41 men with a 3.14 composite GPA.
Welcome new brothers, and way to go!

So I have no idea if this is in this thread or another...
Beloit College (Beloit, WI) is open for expansion. DPhiE and KD are presenting next week! Two other orgs responded, but pulled their interest. The campus only has AST and two locals (one is staying local, one is seeking NPC affiliation). (Plus TKE, SigChi, and PhiPsi) I am way excited to see this local go NPC! Best of luck to both groups presenting!!!!

The Xi Deuteron Chapter of Fiji is supposed to be re-colonizing at Case Western Reserve University
I looked at their national website and haven't found anything about it, but it's been a subject of discussion in greek life here since at least sometime last spring.
So, good luck to Fiji, I look forward to seeing their house fixed up and full of brothers (it's so depressing as it is now)

Not sure, if LXA was the first there but any expansion is good.
We have 3 Chapters in San Antonio.
The best of luck to any who expand!
LittleE, will have to check thier web site to see who is there.
Many schools who were only locals because of R M Laws are interested in going National so it will be interesting what happens.

University of the Incarnate Word currently has 2 fraternities: Chi Phi and Lambda Chi Alpha; and 2 sororities: Alpha Sigma Alpha and Delta Beta Chi (local). AST will be creating its own colony, not taking over the local group.

Does a local sorority have to go through the same steps as an interest group in order to affiliate with a national?

Not knowing for sure how Sororities work, I would imagine so. But, it would help if there is a strong group looking to affiliate as my local did with LXA!
Strength in numbers can always help to be looked at.

Sigma Chi and Rhode Island
After a near nine-year absence, Sigma Chi is returning to the University of Rhode Island. A month-long, headquarters-driven New Chapter Initiative will begin in February 2007. When the new colony is formed in March, Delta Sigma will be 12 months away from regaining its charter.
Expansion: University of Rhode Island
