My neighbor is a cop (we call him "Cop-Neighbor"
) told us the same thing. He says that they went through this in training so that if they ever use the taser they can relate to the jury during trial what it is like to be hit. He still has a small burn mark from his (I think he has been on the job for 2 years - maybe 3 now).
We were watching some stupid redneck funny home videos (is it Country Fried Videos? Something like that on CMT I think...) -- anyways, it shows a cop who is supposed to be hit in the chest - instead the guy using the taser misses & hits his groin. My husband was almost in tears watching it, but we were laughing none-the-less.
But this has zero to do with the topic at hand - just reading this thread reminded me of that video.
