It's a founding chapter, don't they have to start off large? Each pledge class after them will then probably have around 30 men each right? Which is below your cap. And a 3.6 GPA is very respectable, in addition to their extracurricular and academic achievements.

Congrats Beta!

Each school has a different Greek Culture. Houses at Southern Cal tend to be larger. 83 would make them almost compatibly sized with some of the established, better houses.
Our houses are much larger than that, I know about the differences in greek culture.

I hope they have good insurance in the years to come is all I have to say...

Technically the pledge classes are in the range of 25 guys if you look at the breakdown of how many members from each class...

It's impossible to know as an outsider how the dynamic in the chapter will set up, but I'm sure that people on this site who have been founding members will say that having that many guys is a benefit. I can't imagine the amount of work that goes into setting up something completely new like a full chapter.

That is awesome!

Congrats to Beta!

That number seems really huge to me...but then I go to a tiny college. Our chapter of Beta almost died, but now they're working on coming back. They had 10 join last year, and 6 so far this year (not bad for a group that was down to only 4). If they don't know already, I know that our Beta's will be really excited to hear this news.
