Super impressive by the Men of Beta Theta Pi.

Congratulations on both counts.

*snaps* to both colonies... it's always great to see amazing additions to our brotherhood.

Congratulations to both colonies, those stats are incredible! Although I can't say I'm suprised--as an undergrad my Greek advisor was a Beta and he was fabulous. Keep up the great work!

I don't understand why ya'll think this is good? There is no way I'd take 83 guys and consider that a win. That's not even a good pledge class. They don't know each other, won't know each other, and most likely this will end up in some sort of oversight like letting a gay guy in (not going to say anything about Beta). A good pledge class consists of maybe 45 people, tops 50. Anything more is too many. It's angered me with my own fraternity.

It's not a pledge class, it's a new colony. If the rest of the fraternities on the campus are that size, it would be a huge disadvantage for them to start with less. I doubt that they'll ever have a pledge class that large.

Each school has a different Greek Culture. Houses at Southern Cal tend to be larger. 83 would make them almost compatibly sized with some of the established, better houses.

It's a founding chapter, don't they have to start off large? Each pledge class after them will then probably have around 30 men each right? Which is below your cap. And a 3.6 GPA is very respectable, in addition to their extracurricular and academic achievements.

Congrats Beta!

I am sorry our success bothers you so much. Maybe you can visit their site from time to time and learn something from them.

That's pretty funny. There are lots of gay Gamma and Xi chapter initiates. Many kids who are obsessed with homosexuality (like yourself) have latent tendencies, usually cloaked by self-loathing.

I missed the part where it said they got those numbers after only one semester. Colonization as I've known it has been a 1 year process at minimum. I didn't read all that carefully, but did the article say that they recruited 83 kids in a semester?

My pledge class (we were charter members) was 133. What do you think of that?

Congrats to Beta!!
