I wouldn't say I love Country, but I listen to it sometimes and enjoy most of it. Daughter number one does promotional appearances for a local country station.

Promotional apperances, that is cool!
Did anyone see Brooks and Dunn on The View today promoting the show? They were funny. And Cameron Mathison (Ryan from All My Children) was on talking about how he was going to present an award tonight at the show with LeeAnn Womack -- did anyone catch which award? Love him! I could look at him all night long

I love, love, LOVE country music -- Nashville and Texas!
I tuned in last night and was disappointed that Sara Evans did not win Female Vocalist of the Year. Carrie Underwood is great, yes, but Female Vocalist of the Year?! I don't think so.
Male Vocalist of the Year should've gone to Brad Paisley but I'm happy that he won Album of the Year.

Did anyone notice Faith Hill's reaction when they announced Carrie Underwood as female vocalist of the Year? She threw her hands up and said something, kind of looking upset. Thanks to the magic of TiVo, my husband watched it over and over again, and he thinks she is saying, "What" and I think she was saying something else but can't figure it out...maybe a sarcastic, "what a surprise?"

YouTube video of Faith Hill. She doesn't look very happy and is pissed off that she isn't the winner.
This is going to take a long time to live down.

Hilarious! Obviously Faith Hill expected the award. After all, she was the predicted winner.

I'm not that impressed with Carrie. I really like "Before He Cheats" but I don't think she's done anything yet to win Female Vocalist of the Year... she always sounds so breathy to me. At the height of its popularity I always said I would drive my car off a cliff the next time I hear "Jesus Take the Wheel."
I agree, Sara Evans should have won.

I don't understand how Faith could think that the public would go LOL FUNNY JOKE FAITH!!!
I don't know if she was truly upset, but theres no way it was a joke.. maybe a publicity stunt.
Oh and I'm glad Carrie won, she's my favorite!

My husband is a huge country music fan, so I get to listen to it whenever we are in the car together. I'm not a huge fan, but I do like Alison Krauss & Union Station (I know they are technically Bluegrass, but she does country stuff as well).
Anyway, last summer (2005) I was able to see her live- we had second row center seats. Even my husband, who goes to tons of concerts, was amazed. It was one of his favorite concerts ever just for the incredible music.
