Any Country Music Lovers?
I dont know about yall but i love country music -- love Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, etc. What about yall? And are yall going to be tuning in for the Country Music Awards Monday? Brooks and Dunn are hosting -- going to be a good one.

I love country music, just not CMT country music.
|
I love country music. I just saw Sammy Kershaw last night. Fun fact: people who work for the company I start with Monday will be in Nashville Sunday night. I'm sooooooo jealous!!
|
I think Kenny Chesney, Rascall Flats, Keith Urban, Tobey Kieth, et al. are all a disgrace to Country Music.

I LOVE country music. I like the legends (Johnny, Hank, Merle, etc) but I don't mind the new stuff either.
Here is my current favorite country music singer. He's a local, I've been listening to him forever but he finally got a contract, should have a song coming out on the radio soon and his CD at the beginning of the year. He's got a great voice, great personality, and he's pretty easy on the eyes. He still plays in one of the bars here about once every 2-3 months and my best friend and I always get there at least an hour early so we can be front and center. http://www.myspace.com/lukebryan My favorite song he has posted right now is "We Rode in Trucks" but my all time favorite song of his is "First Love Song". |
That is pretty much the majority of what i listen too. I even stream online country stations in the south for a better mix of music.

I DO I DO!
I love Carrie Underwood, she's probably my favorite.. I'm also a fan of Garth Brooks, Dierks Bentley, TOBY KEITH <3, and duh of course George Straight and Johnny Cash. I can't STAND Sugarland though, that chick's voice is so annoying. I'm not big on Reba either. |
I love all country music. It is all we listen to in my office.
Ive been to several concerts this summer. Toby, Carrie Underwood, Kenny, I love Jason Alden's Hicktown, reminds me of where I grew up.... I am a huge country fan. |

I think Jennifer Nettles is the lead singer of Sugarland, and its kinda weird that she's in mainstream country music now. I think she's actually a pretty good vocalist, but I remember when she was playing the local Atlanta scene, and Soul Miner's Daughter was a pretty far cry from country. Like other genre's, Nashville country has become business over artistry by mass producing artists rather than simply promoting them.

I wouldn't say I love Country, but I listen to it sometimes and enjoy most of it. Daughter number one does promotional appearances for a local country station.
|
Promotional apperances, that is cool!
Did anyone see Brooks and Dunn on The View today promoting the show? They were funny. And Cameron Mathison (Ryan from All My Children) was on talking about how he was going to present an award tonight at the show with LeeAnn Womack -- did anyone catch which award? Love him! I could look at him all night long :) |
I love, love, LOVE country music -- Nashville and Texas!
I tuned in last night and was disappointed that Sara Evans did not win Female Vocalist of the Year. Carrie Underwood is great, yes, but Female Vocalist of the Year?! I don't think so. Male Vocalist of the Year should've gone to Brad Paisley but I'm happy that he won Album of the Year. |
Did anyone notice Faith Hill's reaction when they announced Carrie Underwood as female vocalist of the Year? She threw her hands up and said something, kind of looking upset. Thanks to the magic of TiVo, my husband watched it over and over again, and he thinks she is saying, "What" and I think she was saying something else but can't figure it out...maybe a sarcastic, "what a surprise?"

YouTube video of Faith Hill. She doesn't look very happy and is pissed off that she isn't the winner.
This is going to take a long time to live down. |
