But all the albums sound the same...by which I mean, every song on an album sounds the same, so all the different albums sound different but all the songs...you know what I mean.
Nine Inch Nails...now there's a band that knows the meaning of life!

You guys better be doing this just to make me lose faith in Americans. NIN and Nirvana are both pathetic examples of music.

You take that back, NIN is awesome! What music do you prefer Shiner?

I like a lot of stuff, mostly stuff in the vein of classic rock, americana, folk, texas country....Zeppelin, Dylan, Van Morrison, Seeger, Paul Simon, Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert Earl Keen, The Band, Joe Cocker, CCR, Buffett, early springsteen, older elton john, Waylon, The Kinks, and then some more recent stuff....Hayes Carll, Reckless Kelly, Cast Iron Filter, Chris Knight, Charlie Robison, Old Crow Medicine Show, and although I'll probably get made fun of, I like some Nickel Creek. Theres a ton more, but thats stuff on my study playlist of late

Hell yeah NIN...give me a minute...|\| | |/| there ya go
shinerbock, do you also like the Doors? Zep is good, you have Cash and Kinks , and I would have never guessed that from your above posts.
What do you think about the current state or rock music (should I just start another thread?)

I like the Doors ok, but they're pretty hit and miss as far as my preference. I like some stuff, and I hate others. I have similar feelings about Pink Floyd. I like creativity, but sometimes the complexity is too much. Most of the stuff I like is fairly simplistic, but the musical talent is pretty good. Hence, I don't like stuff like NIN, Tool, etc, etc.
I think the current state of music is pathetic, to be honest. This may sound banal, but the only thing I'm into in mainstream rock is The Killers. I'm also a bit of a Jack White fan. Most of what I listen to these days that is current is either Texas country, some variation of bluegrass (OCMS, Nickel Creek, Yonder Mountain String Band), and some jam thrown in. I really hate the "I'm gonna kill myself, I'm not a conformist" type stuff, which eliminates about 75% of popular rock. I dunno, I mean there is talent out there, but my playlist generally reads like a Cameron Crow soundtrack.

Now that is some good music. But I always have to add Crosby, Stills, Nash (and sometimes Young) into the mix.
