Good for you! I know it is cliche, but everything really does happen for a reason and it looks like you are headed down a great path to a future career and a wonderful college experience.

I was in the colorguard for my first 2 years at UTK and absolutely loved it. College marching band is hugely different from high school, but it's an amazing experience and I'm sure you'll enjoy.

What are your shows this year?
|
Before I joined they did a show that didnt seem to have a theme really taht anyone could find. It had zorro, when a man loves a woman, and sing sing sing ( the chips ahoy song!)
We did a beach show with Good Vibrations, a beach boys surf medley ft. wipe out(awesome dance feature with the swim, it was so fun), and california girls.
Our last show is a disco show with the hustle (the entire band doing the hustle is priceless), pinball wizard and play that funky music white boy. It should be fun.

We did a show that had Sing, Sing, Sing and Rodeo (from the Beef commercial)...we wanted to get shirts that year that had "Color Guard" in the "Chips Ahoy" logo and "Guard - It's what's for halftime", but we couldn't find anywhere to do them for us.

Congrats on SAI. It's a great organization. You've got a great connection with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. My best bud is a founding chapter member PMA. I LOVE to hear those guys sing.
And CONGRATS on the color guard. That sounds like a lot of fun.

Congratulations on SAI!
The Sinfonians are a hoot--glad you're meeting some really, really cool guys.

Does anyone know if once someone is a member of SAI, can you still join a NPH sorority? I know that I will no longer be elidgible for TBS but I wasn't sure if that holds true for NPH sororities. I asked our president but she has yet to answer me. Thanks!

do you mean NPC or NPHC? Either way, I believe the answer is yes. There are a few GC women that are members of SAI and an NPC group.

Sheryl Crow (and others as an example) is a member of SAI in addition to being a Theta so I know it's not a issue with us. I would say the same would hold true of other NPC groups.
The only issue I would potentially see is what the norm is on your campus about it. At EKU typically ladies that join SAI arent members of NPC groups, though I'm sure there are/have been exceptions. I just never knowingly saw it or knew it when I was an active. The local sorority on our campus is a service one, and they dont allow their members to join NPC groups on campus(long story about that). I do know of some members of TBS on your campus joining NPC chapters. If that isnt a problem, then I dont see where being a member of SAI would be either.

If you mean an NPC sorority, then yes. One of my chapter sisters was in SAI also.

Yes! If you're still interested in a NPC, go for it! (Just don't spread yourself too thin--remember you need time to sleep, too!)

Haha Yes I meant NPC sorry don't know what I was thinking!
I know that atleast 5 of the girls in SAI are in NPC groups, but the only thing I am worried about is that they joined them before joining SAI because I remember at the first rush event they said if you want to also join TBS you have to join there first and then come here. That was my only concern.
