I dont think anyone would have a problem with you buying it as a gift. I think it would be a real problem if you were WEARING the crest or using it for your self.
Just my two cents, though. :-)

I'd love to know how you handled it, also. But what can you really do? You can't rip the shirt off of her back - it's just kinda sad.

Our president and new member educator met with her, numerous times, eventually she tired of it.
By the end of the whole thing she took an afghan she had bought (with our crest on it no less) and ripped into a bunch of pieces and left it on our new member educator's dorm door.
