Yep, that be the one. Even though Erik (real name Enrique) Estrada is a native-born Nuyorican (New Yorkers of Puerto Rican Hispanic ancestry), he doesn't speak much Spanish. He actually had to master the Mexican dialect, since
Dos Mujeres, Un Camino was made by the Mexican network Televisa.
In Spanish (mainly Venezuelan slang), long-winded telenovelas are called 'culebrones' (literally 'big snakes'), because many people get all wrapped up in them. Next to oil, Venezuela's second biggest export is telenovelas.
I haven't kept up much with Spanish TV, but there used to be a tall, blond haired actress who played in many Venezuelan telenovelas. What's even more interesting is that she speaks flawless English as well as Spanish. After all, Sonya Smith was born in Philadelphia...
