Girlfriends
After watching the 1st 2 episodes, in the words of "Twan" and the other men on film character (from in living color) I "HAAAATED IT"
Also, I think its kinda sad that Jill Marie left the show because it wasn't picked up fast enough, only to join a cbs show that's already been cancled before it got out the gate. Now what's a girl supposed to do. Looks like she's stuck doing Baileys commercials *cue the violins* If only she had waited. I guess that's why they say patience is a virtue.

If I remember correctly she left because of the money situation, not because it wasn't picked up fast enough. What was out was that they the cast wanted more money and had agreed to stand together when the powers that be came to them asking them to take the pay cut. Jill Marie Jones was the only one that stood her ground and left.

This morning Tracey Ellis Ross was on the Steve Harvey show and she alluded to Jill Marie Jones not staying because they thought the show wasn't going to be picked up and they were all surprised that it was picked up for a 7th season.
But I also remember her saying that Jill Marie left because of the money issue as well. So it might have been a combination of both.

They need her. Not that she carries the show, but all four together make the show. Unless I see some interesting posts here, i dont think I will watch again.

I stopped watching months ago. even though my favortie character is joan, 2nd toni, the characters started to seem too "caricature-ish".

I agree with the caricature-ish nature of the characters. I could never be friends with anyone as selfish as Toni or as flaky as Lynn. Their friendship just did not make sense to me, so it was just something I watched when nothing else was on. Their friendship certainly did not feel natural to me

Yeah. That's what TER said in Vibe Vixen, the latter. So which is it, missy (TER)? LOL
With their seemingly tight rapport on camera, I was shocked to read in the same article, that the ladies aren't really THAT close knit.

I am not surprised at all because they have such differing personalities I could see them getting on each other's nerves!!!

Joan finally had her breakdown with Toni leaving.
Can they stop talking about her (Toni) already? LOL

I think it'll be interesting to see Monica and Joan be friends. I kinda liked their interaction during the "Lemon Squeeze".
I'm glad Joan finally allowed herself to feel the pain of Toni's cutting her off. When Lynn and Maya initially confronted Joan about not admitting to the pain while Joan was carrying plates, I was seriously thinking, "Don't let her throw them down a la Florida Evans."
Now, I kind of want to see how Joan carries on after finally admitting that her heart was broken by Toni's departure and treatment of her.
How do y'all feel about Lynn and Maya sneaking behind Joan's back to have dinner with Toni at Flame? I only remembered the name because Lynn said, "Flame is lame." lol ---> yes, a small laugh

It seems like that is becoming the norm these days for a lot of TV show ensemble casts -- Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City. I think it used to happen years ago as well, i.e. Three's Company, but it was not as well known as it is today.
