I don't really see that many black women at clubs either, unless it's a gay/lesbian one.
I do see black women at lounges, but are still outnumbered by white women and black men.

I suggest that you find other places in your area to patronize. I'm sure all of the Black women aren't holed up in their homes all the time. You can always find some Black women and ask them where they go to hang out.

Come to Charlotte. I'll take you to The V Lounge and you will see 2 floors of Black women drinking and dancing. I, on the other hand, will sit outside with a book.
ETA: There are Black men there as well. And this was directed to Dionysus, the preponderer of Black women at bars, lounges, and clubs in America.

I like bars occasionally.
However, I like nice, classy,"lounge" type bars-not hole in the wall dive bars.

I was going to reply to this thread and say "Because I live in Idaho!" but that would be wrong as I do see Black women at the bar. The distinction is that I actually see more African students than American Black women but they are here. However it is a university town and we are small and welcoming so everyone goes everywhere and BS is pretty much not tolerated by staff or patrons of booze establishments. I even see Black people at The Plantation bar, which some find ironic. We affectionately call it The Plant and the only problems there are when some sings some tragic karaoke.

I started to say Montana or North Dakota but I used Idaho earlier in another conversation so I just flowed with it.
I doubt I would ever go to a bar, club, or lounge named Plantation, even if Michael Ealy himself was there. But I also don't plan to live in a subdvision or on a street with the word plantation in it. But that's just me.

LOL I'm not a fan of those "The Rusty Pick-up Inn" sort of places. The places I go to are pretty mainstream and poplular, there's all kinds people, but very few black women. Maybe like two, me included.

Co-sign...When I lived in Atlanta there were so many subdivisions and apt. complexes with the word "plantation" in them...I could never bring myself to live somewhere with that name in it...

Same with Charlotte. I just can't go there.
To Dionysus, well I don't know what to tell you other than suck it up.

If I find other places to patronize, it still doesn't change the fact I almost never see any black women at mainstream bar/clubs/whatever (in STL). None of the black women I know are into that stuff, except one.
I wish there were other St. Louisans on here....I'm not crazy (ok I am), but I"m not blind.

I am not speaking for all bars in America. I stated in my OP that maybe it was only a STL thing. But, I have the feeling it isn't.

I live only a mile from a street called "plantation".

I don't really want to live in a subdivision. I like condos.
