				Gamma Sig, why I joined

Someone once asked me, "Why Gamma Sig?"

I simply smiled knowingly and this is what I said,

" It was October 12, 1952, when eight colleges and universities

came together to form something new.

A sorority for service, for women of every shape and size

women of every color, anyone wants to try."

Shaking her head, she still seemed confused,

for though we proudly repped our letters, we paid no council dues.

"The purpose clearly states

that we come together in the spirit of service to humanity,

not to promote our deeds or ourselves socially

So WEEEE-OOOP and we stroll, all in good fun,

but usually that is only after some community service is done."

She pondered theses tidbits and thought a little more

finally I asked her what all the questions were for?

"Is Gamma Sig for me?"

I smiled, remembering when I asked that same question

Thought I'd give her a SKEEE-OOOP

and hope it'd put her in the right direction

" A Gamma Sig woman is well rounded, confident, and well spoken.

Her hands are always working, her lips are always praising!

So her mirror's always reflecting

A Leader , A Gem, A Rose with a stem,

and an inner beauty that never dims.

She is constantly growing, while with her sisters working side by side

And her standard for herself is always set high

So if any of these things sound anything like you,

remember that we simply do service, what about you?"
