Check the apple site, you can get refurbished ones pretty reasonably.

Sadly i still can't afford it...I can't afford much of anything these days, and can't work until after my surgeries, so it stinks

Ack I know the feeling, my bank account was hacked into this wekeend and amongst the funds stolen were the ones for my new ipod. So my dying not so slowly 40Gb will have to suffice until I get my money back.

The 8 GB and 30 GB are the same price...with that the case, why buy an 8 GB one?

No idea. Bank said its becoming common for restaurants, delivery people--anyone who takes card away from you to run it or does and imprint of it then have the ability to make a fake card on your account and somehow find a way to use it to take money out. Also, non-bank ATMs are a big risk--like at 7/11, etc.

So my 80GB will have to wait until I get my money back.

That's the #1 reason why i won't use non-bank ATMs...I hate ATMs all together, but if I need one, it's a bank one and that's it.

It's so hard to know who to trust and who not to trust these days/

I have a 30GB fifth generation iPod and love it! Leave it to Apple to come out with something new once I buy something else from them.

80GB with extended playing time sounds really sweet, but considering I just bought my iPod (and a MacBook I'm typing on), I'm not in the market for anything else just yet.
