Don't discount Gemini because of their mentoring program. Pretty much every chapter at my school (UMD) has a "bid day buddy" of some sort who is an initial mentor before you get your big. At Sig Kap, we call them heart sisters; Theta has kite sisters; AOPi has panda pals; Zeta has strawberry sisters, etc. This way, you have someone to connect with right away (often someone you met during recruitment), and then you choose your big (and she chooses you) later into your new member period. Sometimes your heart sister can be your big as well. We also do senior shadows, which is a nice way to get the seniors involved and makes them less intimidating. Having several mentor figures makes the chapter more unified and less cliquey because you bond with more sisters. Your big will still be the central figure during your new member period and for the rest of your sorority experience. My Sigma Kappa family is extremely close, testament of the big-little program.

I am really excited to hear about the rest of recruitment for you! Good luck tomorrow!
I agree with JessSigKap- don't discount the mentoring programs, they're in place to help you get the most out of your sorority experience. My collegiate chapter is looking into getting involved in a "slightly-older sister" program, where each member of the chapter is mentored by an alumnae member throughout her undergrad. career. This is in addition to her big sis of course.
