I am glad to hear that your first day of recruitment went so well!
Don't discount Gemini because of their mentoring program. Pretty much every chapter at my school has a "bid day buddy" of some sort who is an initial mentor before you get your big. At Sig Kap, we call them heart sisters; Theta has kite sisters; AOPi has panda pals; Zeta has strawberry sisters, etc. This way, you have someone to connect with right away (often someone you met during recruitment), and then you choose your big (and she chooses you) later into your new member period. Sometimes your heart sister can be your big as well. We also do senior shadows, which is a nice way to get the seniors involved and makes them less intimidating. Having several mentor figures makes the chapter more unified and less cliquey because you bond with more sisters. Your big will still be the central figure during your new member period and for the rest of your sorority experience. My Sigma Kappa family is extremely close, testament of the big-little program.
I am really excited to hear about the rest of recruitment for you! Good luck tomorrow!

Reason: I want to be more generic about my location.

I agree with JessSigKap- don't discount the mentoring programs, they're in place to help you get the most out of your sorority experience. My collegiate chapter is looking into getting involved in a "slightly-older sister" program, where each member of the chapter is mentored by an alumnae member throughout her undergrad. career. This is in addition to her big sis of course.

Thanks for the update! Best of luck at the next round!
I'm 99% sure I was right about my guess on the school

Ok well today was house tours. I went today to find out what houses I got invited back to and I was cut from capricorn, virgo and scorpio. So today I went to Gemini, Aquarius, Libra and Pisces. I have to admit I was a little dissapointed when I received my invites because our recrutiment conselours has made it seem like almost no one gets cut the first day so I wasn't really expecting it. But then I found out alot of girls received cuts and near the end of the day when I was sooo tired I was kind of glad I only had four houses I had to go to lol. Actually 2 of the houses that cut me cuz aloooooot of girls, I guess there very selective. I figure in the end your only going to end up at one house anywayz.
So the first house of the day was....
Gemini- I went here first again today. I really enjoyed it again and the girls were all really nice but I still don't feel like I fit in there. There house was really cute and I liked there theme for the day. I also am not sure if i liked it more because it was the first house of the day, I do hope I get asked back her again for skit day. At the moment this is probably my second favorite.
The next house was...
Aquarius-I really liked this house again. I was glad that they had everyone in the living room and kind of staggered who started touring the house so that everyone wasn't trying to tour people at once. I loved there house and could definitley see myself living there. I've liked everyone I've talked to at that house so far. I'm reallly hoping to get asked back there tomorrow and I'm really scared/nervous for it.
The 3rd house was...
Libra-This house was really spacious. They had a nice slideshow that they showed us that I liked. The girls were really friendly but I just don't feel totally comfortable there. There house is also veery far away and I already live kind of far away this year and I know it is something I'm not really interested in.
The last house of the day was...
Pisces- If I had had the choice I was planning on cutting this house but I didnt mind going there. The girls are really nice and friendly and you can tell they enjoy there house. There were a few things I did not like, such as them having a bar in there basement and that there sorority is really small. If they invite me back, I will probably go back but I'm unsure if thats where I'd want to be permanetley.
So today was a really tiring day but also interesting. One thing i felt bad about is that after awhile I would run out of questions to ask at the different sorority member and I felt like maybe they would interpret that as me being uninterested but I just really wasn't sure what else to ask. I'm very scared about my invites for tomorrow, especially because I've already grown very attatched to Aquarius. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be updating with good news.

my house had a bar in the basement. it wasn't that we made it or had it built for our chapter or anything. our house had been purchased by the college. they were basically buying up properties near the school, so we just ended up with a bar in the basement. we basically used it to put out snacks during events and it was the home to this GIANT lion someone had given us. the fun thing was that it was tiled pink!
