Is the world, or at least the US, supposed to stop every year on 9/11?

What difference does it make if she started this thread on 9/11...at *gasp* 9:01 am. What difference does it make if she started it at 9:11 am?

There's a point where sensativity goes overboard.

Plus, if we DO stop the world every 9/11, then we've given the terrorists exactly what they wanted.

Your answer is contained in both Kevin's and my postings....never said anything about stopping the world......

I don't care that it's 9/11. I care that the guy was pretty insignificant. Certainly less significant than say, a middle class guy who was a father, husband, etc. Certainly less "sad" as y'all like to say.

Eh, I disagree. I think it's very tragic when youths die unexpectedly, regardless of who they were or who their parents were. This boy will never experience many things a middle class guy who was a father, husband, etc. has experienced. But, that's just my personal feeling on the issue.

wait a minute, she can start whatever thread she wants to start on this board. Who are you or anyone else to chastize someone for starting a thread they felt compelled to start? YOU go and focus on the terrorist attacks all day long, that's YOU. but you don't have to say things like why do we care. If yo don't care about him being dead, then skip the damn thread. its that simple. No one has to defend their decision to start a particular thread. There is a thread going that commemorates the terrorist attacks. If that is all you want to focus on today, then simply keep your eyes on that thread. You could have refrained from clicking on the link to the thread if it irrititated or baffled you that much.

Stop telling people to go back and read posts. We've read them, and that's what we're commenting on. Telling us to go back and read them again doesn't change our feelings on what you posted in the first place.

You might want to read the entire thread before you hit that reply button next time.

That was my point. I happen to agree, that I don't really care much about Anna Nicole's family, but it's not offensive to post because "Dude, it's 9/11 and 3000 people died on this day".

I wonder if he died of a brain aneurysim or something out of the ordinary like that? It seems like he died just out of the blue, and he was a young man.

On the Today Show this morning, they made mention of hospital speculation that he had a heart attack.

I'm in full agreement with Alpha on this one....I don't think a day has went by since 9/11 that we haven't heard about 9/11. I was actually out of the country for work on 9/11 and it was terrifying to have to take a plane back when the airports were re-opened. The airports were silent.

Sensitivity has gone overboard....when people like that lady that has been making the rounds on the talk shows that wants everyone to feel sorry for her because she blew through almost $5 million and now complaining she is broke after spending $250,000 on a pool and $16,000 on two yorkshire terriers...I think back to the $300 that I gave to the Red Cross, and how I had bills I had to pay, but I was thinking about the stay at home moms that would have a house payment the next month, or others whose income earner had died...not about someone who hired an interior decorator and decided that spending millions on her home would make her feel better.

Now they want $500,000 Million for a memorial?

Not a $1.00 will come from me.
