Yeah, those two punks are from Dearborn Michigan . The fifth anniversary of you know what is coming up in a month so every ambitious creep in the world is probably going to try something.

Aww hunny. Don't be. They've stepped up security hardcore. If anything, he'll be safer today.

Wow. That's crazy. I feel bad for him. At least you know he's safe though.

I had to re-wire my brain packing last night. I had to keep reminding myself not to put any handcream, toothpaste, etc. in my carry-on (something I wouldn't think twice about before). We are leaving for the airport extra early today. Our flight isn't until 2:15 PM, but we plan on arriving at 11am this morning.

As far as buying drinks and stuff post security, I know Vancouver has asked all merchants to put any drinks/liquid into open cups, and it must be discarded before boarding the plane.

I am not looking forward to this flight to NY. I dry out easily when I fly, so it will be hard not having water (will have to wait for the flight attendant), hand cream, contact solution, eyedrops.

Oh yeah, does anybody know if you are still allowed to buy Duty Free? I was hoping to pick up a bottle of BC wine for our friend in NJ who we are staying with... guess I will find out soon enough.

I don't know if you're still on here, but on our Channel 9 (Windsor CBC), they said NO to duty free liquids.

Don't think so on the Duty Free. There was a story about someone shotgunning a bottle of champagne in security so it wouldn't go to waste.

/not sure that that's still not a waste of a nice bottle of champagne

So what happens if you want to buy something duty free? You can't? Or can they just keep it on the plane for you until it lands?

I am planning to fly to London this weekend. As is my usual practice, I will have a ham sandwich in my briefcase, or if no food is allowed I will have some pigskin driving gloves with me. If one of those moral cowards makes a move to take out the plane my plan is to simply belt him with my ham annointed knuckles or my driving gloves and tell him 'go on and do your thing shit head, you are now defiled'. A Muslim chaplain from my active Army days told me that the strict interpretation was if a Muslim so much as touches pork he is defiled and cannot enter paradise untill purefied, even if a martyr. This is not held by all Muslims but fundamentalists do seem to accept this concept, I am told.
I have no patience with those who seek to do horrible things in the name of God and try to justify their actions as "God's will". I don't care if the shit head in question is Muslim, Jew, or Christian, the last time I looked the COMMANDMENT "Thou shalt not do murder" applies to us all. The sort of murderous cowardice these terrorists practice is a lie before God and I suspect He would be royally furious at such blasphemy.
As a side thought, the American people tend to be slow to anger and will forgive a lot, but once that anger is aroused...

The MI5 and MI6 (british intelligence and major crimes...CIA and FBI basically) are pretty thorough, but they've been having some major PR problems following a mis-procedure searching for chemical weapons in London's suburbs a few months ago, and there's still some fallout from the 7/7 bombings.

Just got done talking to my friends in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Luton...basically, everyone's staying home. Airports are simply pointless at this stage. some are chosing to queue, but the connecting flights are going to be a mess. As for the hand luggage- the discount airliners make a FORTUNE off of Brits taking weekend trips and flying to Ireland/the continent for business- taking only a carry on.

Lol I'm just picturing it. It's really funny. If it was just a normal Muslim person, I wouldn't be laughing. But these are dumbfucks trying to kill innocent people. Therefore: FUNNY AS HELL.

Your chaplain needs to be fired. Like ASAP.

Just hand him a football as he walks up the aisle. But be sure it's a real pigskin one.

A friend flew Denver/Orange County this morning and says the Denver security lines took forever.
