I still kind of chuckle about KD going to "PACE" University.
It's kind of punny, really.

I know, isn't it cool? I am on the colonization committee with KDNYAA. We are so excited!!! There will be no Fall recruitment, though, since Pace doesn't allow freshmen to pledge during their first semester. However, we will pledge sophomores, juniors, and seniors, so we'll have lots of ladies. The first "event" for these ladies is in September at a Shake Shack.

Haha, until you said it I hadn't even thought about that. And then it still took me a second. But yes, very funny now that you mention it. Haha.

I noticed on Sigma Delta Tau's website that they are also colonizing at Pace University. I didn't realize more than one sorority could colonize at the same school in the same year!

pardon my crash...
Hey girls - did you ever find out if this is a colonization from the ground up or if it's absorbing a local?
sunnydebs - there is no limit on the number of sororities that can colonize at a school in a year - it's all "what the market will bear."

The colonization at Pace is definitely from the ground up--there is no local to absorb. So, as you know, it will be very difficult. There is a lot of interest, though, so we feel confident that it will go well. National Headquarters, KDNYAA, KD at The College of New Jersey, and current and former CDCs are working hard to get this chapter started.
If you'd like more information, please contact National HQ directly, or email the KD NY Alum Association, at kdnyaa@hotmail.com. We're so happy that so many people are interested!!!
