Yeah, but I'm pretty sure the A&F, Aero, Forever 21, Gap, D&G, Gucci crowd knows that they're all a bunch of trend-whores. And I totally admit to being a trend-whore myself (uggs, rainboots, peasant shirts, cami tops, point-toe shoes with jeans, capris, etc.), but I feel like if you're going to copy what a bunch of other people are wearing or if you're going to buy into a "manufactured" look, don't pretend like you're this rebel and non-conformist. It's like Avril Lavigne claiming she's punk. No, Avril, you are not punk. You know nothing about what it means to be punk. It's about more than plaids and safety pins. It was an entire movement based on unemployment, race relations, social changes, police harrassment, and government oppression. It was powerful music with a social and political message (whether positive or negative).

I'm pretty sure there are SOME of your mentioned crowd that admits to being trend-whores... but I'm sure some of them are only doin it because it's what the "hot" celebs are into and because it makes them look like they have money or just plain ol "Hey I'm soooooo cool and sassy because I have a Gucci!" I never knew anything of that punk thing. When did all that happen? I know a lot of "punk" people with jobs who've never been harrassed by the police.
