J-Students
K, let me say right now that you all are entitled to your opinions...
But I am a JOURNALISM student... But i'm not going to be a journalist... why? Because i'm a Public Relations major (our program is in the school of journalism) - but we are also trained journalists as part of the curriculum...
So you can't lump all "J" students in one boat...
Our last Grand Prytanis (President) at TKE is a Public Relations person...
My chapter benefits from my P.R. train of thought... I've been a rush chair, rituals officer and am currently vice president...
But technically, I am a "journalism" student... and I plan to be more than a typically active alumni... I will be at Conclaves until i'm grey...
Just my 2 cents...
On another note, yes, our fraternity has had TONS of political figures...
Ronald Reagan had TEKES at the White House all the time... Visited TKE houses regularly... greeted Tekes first everytime he arrived somewhere...
We've had a Surpreme Court Justice, a national security advisor, MANY MANY people in the senate/house (including currently - Robert Byrd as an example), we've had governors from more than 6 states, etc...
Heck, our list of important people goes on forever...
So what if they wanted to mingle with their brothers for life?
