You've named the wild card here. Ohio State will lose some All America defenders. I don't know enough about who will replace them to comment.
I do think (hindsite is always 20/20, isn't it?) that if Ohio State's quarterback situation had been stable, (that is to say, if Troy Smith had played the whole game) they would have beaten Texas in Columbus last year.
In the end, though, that didn't happen and that, as they say, is that.
