Disneyland and "LA" (which I am assuming means West Hollywood) are not next door to one another. It's a hike.
For the most fun, rent a car (if you are flying in, that is!) and stay in one of beach cities like Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach. You can tour West Hollywood and the OC by day and club hop on the beach piers by night.
Thursday night-- club hop on Sunset Blvd. (Dublin's and Miyagi's are famous landmarks) or hit Hermosa Beach Pier.
