Sometimes...which is very interesting. I use to be much darker when I used to be in Miami (because I ran track in high school and was always in the sun) - during this time, everyone thought I was either Black or mixed.
Now that I moved to northern Florida and didn''t get that much sun, so my complexion got MUCH lighter and so now...
Most white people guess that I am something other than Black and most Black people guess that I am "mixed," and occasionally get called "white girl" or "spanish girl."
Since then, I got my tan back
I guess it may be the geographic location as well as my skin complexion that gives a hint of what I may be.
