That doesn't necessarily mean it has to be sex, as there are a great many people who won't for religious/personal reasons. However, the physical intimacy has to be there, and I don't think it can wait more than a month or so.

I think this sums up my opinion pretty well.
I would not wait more than a month to get to second base. I need the physical contact with someone that I am dating. I suppose the sex can wait longer... Strange though how people seem to want to wait longer when the person seems to be someone "special". This may sound bad, but I would probably sleep with someone sooner if I saw him as just a guy that I kinda liked and had fun with but didn't see anything long term happening. But, if I actually saw the person as someone with potential for longevity, I would be more inclined to wait longer.
