Not quite. JetBlue's aircraft (which, by the way, are all named after a shade of blue or a play on words including blue - the aircraft in question is named
Canyon Blue) have a special version of DirecTV on board with individual seatback monitors. The passengers did see themselves on TV for a little while, until the system was turned off in the flight deck.
The landing gear performed as advertised - the tires and rims disintegrated in a shower of sparks as they dragged on the runway, since they're made of a magnesium alloy. Long landing; the captain kept the nose up as long as possible after touchdown to slow it down before setting it down on the busted nose gear.
