Just a comment to the whole first/second choice thing: Quite honestly, what PNMs are feeling during recruitment may not hold out. If someone gets her first choice and loves it, great! But personally, the group that I am in was not my favorite sorority during recruitment. However, I don't regret my decision to join one bit! I'm perfectly fine telling people this because I love my sorority and everything I have been able to do through it.

Recruitment is just one week. Being a member... that's a decision that affects the rest of your life! So don't worry about talking about your feelings. If you join any of these groups, either through COB or by choosing one tomorrow, I hope that you are happy!

But that's just my opinion :-) Good luck with your decision!

i guess it is the time to say... what do you really want? sounds like you have options. this is the second time, so maybe it's time to commit if you really want to. mom will likely live with things if you are happy. the past, however, must live in the past if you did nothing with it. it's time to go foreward. just my two cents.

Ugh, so I'm torn between two groups--Phoebe and Patty. I see myself as both. I just hope that i get invited back to Patty and Phoebe tomorrow.
Just wanted to point out what you said about Patty a while back. You really seemed to like tham a lot. I would think hard about this, because, in my opinion, Phoebe didn't invite you to pref for a reason. And Patty did invite you because they think you have potential to be a sister. If Patty gives you a bid, would you really want to turn down people who accept you and want you there (and who you really enjoyed being with all week) to take your chances with COB with a group that cut you?

One of my best friends in my chapter had Chi O as her second choice on her bid card. Her first choice did not extend her a bid. After a couple weeks of really getting to know the girls and her pledge sisters, she knew she was meant to be with us.

We'll said. I second this. It sounds like Patty wants you and remember that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. If it were me, I'd go with Patty, never look back, and do my best to enjoy and contribute to membership in Patty.

Best wishes!

I was totally ready to go to bid day today and just say I don't think i'm cut out for a sorority. But this morning I really had a long chat with myself (lol) and my mom, and I came to the conclusion that Patty was the place for me. All the girls were genuine and I felt like I belong there. So I went to bid day and gladly accepted a bid from Patty...which happens to be a local group here. So yay!!

But I do have to say one thing---something I had been thinking about this week. I did say a few mean things about group Prue..and for that I want to publicly apologize. I, for one, know how much words can hurt, whether they are muttered in person or through the internet, and I honestly am upset with myself that I actually became that caddy and said those hurtful things. I really didn't realize how much of what I said could hurt....whether it was true, or not...it wasn't right and I should have kept it to myself. They are great girls and they shouldn't be treated that way....so I apologize, I'm sorry y'all.

formal recruitment is a very stressful and emotional time. i think that most of us here realize that, and realise that your words were typed in the "heat of the moment", when you were emotional and exhausted, and we do not hold them against you at all!! congratulations on your bid!!
