Has anyone seen this from the smoking gun?! Oy, I hope it doesn't change people's minds...

"Idol" Finalist Dodged Cocaine Rap

Bo Bice completed drug diversion program after 2001 Alabama bust

APRIL 28--One of the five remaining "American Idol" finalists was once arrested for felony cocaine possession, but had the charge dismissed last year after completing a so-called "diversion program" for first-time offenders, The Smoking Gun has learned. Harold "Bo" Bice, 29, was busted in June 2001 by Huntsville, Alabama cops and hit with the drug count, a Class C felony, according to the below warrant (Bice posted $1000 bond and was released from the Madison County Jail). After being postponed for a week at the request of prosecutors, a District Court preliminary hearing was set for August 29, 2001. But when a Huntsville Police Department investigator did not show, Judge Susan Moquin dismissed the Bice case, according to a court docket. But with prosecutors prepared to refile the felony count, Bice opted to enter a drug diversion program overseen by the district attorney's office, according to Heather Douglas, spokesperson for the Madison County D.A.. Bice entered the program in 2003 and, after successfully completing it, the coke case was bounced on April 28, 2004, Douglas said. Details of what Bice had to do in the diversion program are confidential, Douglas added. However, similar programs often require enrollees to submit to urine tests, undergo drug counseling, and attend awareness classes. If convicted of the felony charge, Bice would have faced a maximum of 10 years in jail, though a probationary term would have been more likely. A police spokesperson told TSG that the arresting officer, Mike Armstrong, no longer worked for the department and that the administrative officer on the case, Sgt. Michael Izzo, could not recall any details of the Bice bust. Court records do not describe the circumstances of Bice's arrest, except for the address where he was popped. Bice, who worked at the time in a Huntsville bar, is a long-haired rocker whose gritty appearance and performances have stood out from "American Idol"'s usual pop pablum. On Fox Television's "Idol" web site, Bice reports that his "most embarrassing moment" was when he once "fell off stage during a show." (3 pages)

Well, shame on him for that, but I'm still voting for him!

Considering that the wife-beater is still on the show, I don't think this will have any effect on Bo's voting numbers.

For the record, I liked Constantine and voiced my unpopular opinion on him here in the past!

However... My daughter tried to call continuously Tuesday night to vote and she said that it would ring and then answer, but it was a weird noise, like a computer or fax machine answering. I don't know who she was voting for, probably Carrie. The night I tried to vote for Nadia, I hit redial constantly for two hours and never got through. How can that be? How can they be getting less votes if they're getting so many calls that you can never get through?

So I'm totally hoping psycho Scott and Anthony go next, but def consider me happy Constantine went this week. I mean, if he stayed any longer he may have had the chance to hang around til the end, at least this way if America becomes sane again, the top 3 will include Bo, Carrie, and Vonzell, and the other two OBVIOUS losers will be the next two to go.

Isn't it possible that so many people are trying to vote that none of the calls get through? Isn't that how any phone line works? Like if we were both trying to call texas princess at the exact same time, neither of our calls would go through and it would sound busy, right? (I don't know phone line specifics so maybe I'm wrong?) Just a thought...

It is probably on your TIVO as Primetime Live?
Yeah, I sat through all of primtime live this week. I kept thinking it would come on next. I guess I should have looked at the date

Actually, I'm confused. The date on the website said Thursday but the trailers for it definitely say Wednesday. We'll have to watch for it both days I'm afraid.

ETA: Just checked against the web site. The site says Thursday, May 4th as I copied and pasted it earlier but May 4th is Wednesday. You'd think they could get that straight on the website, eh? So it's WEDNESDAY... don't miss it!

So can I just say that one of the BEST things about my vacation was finding out that Constannoying is G-O-N-E!!!

I didn't get to watch the past 2 weeks - poor Anwar - but I was jumping out of my seat at lunch reading the paper on Friday that said Constannoying was kicked off. FINALLY!!!

I am all in for Carrie, Vonzell, and Bo -- I will take any of those three. Time to get rid of Harry Potter.

Oh, and just because I don't know where else to put this - Kirstie Alley was at Disney on Thursday. She rode in the boat in front of us on Pirates. She has lost a lot of weight and looked good. She even shopped in the gift shop amongst us common folks

Alas, too bad my husband Clay wasn't there

wild card?

How does the wild card work? Do they do it in every season? How do they decide who comes back? At what point do they come back?

I'm just curious.. I've never seen an entire season of AI until now :P
