Sorry I can't help you out, but I do understand what you are trying to get at, and in my opinion some of the replys here offer absolutely no help. Obviously, at some schools the greek system is very strong, where even the weaker houses on the campus are some of the best houses in that organization, which is something I've discovered here at Nebraska; example--I have a friend in XYZ frat at K-state, I checked out this GLO's house at Nebraska during rush, and didn't really think it was strong enough for me. I had talked to one of my friends brother (an active) and he swore to me that the chapter at Nebraska was one of the best in all of XYZ.

Of course on the flip side there are campuses where the greek system is poor, either b/c of lack of involvement, or sanctions, or apathy.
I guess the best advice is to visit those campuses if you can. See if you can meet with some one from Greek Affairs while you are there, and ask them about grades, involvement, what percent of Greeks and GDI's are on things like Mortar Board (national Senior Honorary) and stuff like that. Also ask about philanthropies, and stuff like that. Also if your tour guide is a student ask them. Just beaware that they may be Independents and anti-greek. I hope that this helps--feel free to send me a personal message if I can be of anymore help.
