What's wrong with Greek Life is we're putting TMI out there.

WOW @ some of the things that have been posted. I didn't read this thread until today.

Sorors and fellow Greeks, everything that you know does not need to be posted (i.e. another org's selection processes and criteria).

Pretty much.

Not all info that one receives should be put on Front Street. I'm getting pissed off all over again.

please check the signature!

what ppl feel is "TMI" is a matter of opinion! in YOUR opinion you feel it's not, so simply...don't put it! But when ppl reply to me, I'm, usually, going to respond, if they don't like the response...again, check the signature!

fyi I am worried about GOD, everything else is a distant second, any other information I have and divulge, is at my discretion! g.i.t.

All of that is really unnecessary because no one really took that tone with you. Not to mention that you probably don't know who you're directing your comments to and your signature sucks.

I hope you were not brought into Delta under the understanding that what is "TMI" is a matter of opinion. If you were taught that what you divulge is at your discretion ONLY then "hmmmmmm." Maybe that would explain why you give a damn about AKAs' processes enough to retain the information and engage in lengthy debates (you all could at least throw some jokes in there and be entertaining) with AKAs over it. "Hmmmmmmm."

We all are concerned about GOD first and foremost but when you come here to this GREEK board and type certain information relevant to GREEK LIFE, try to get your head out of your ass and remember it's not just about you. If that's an impossible task, find a GOD message board and post there.

If we were all "promoting" high standards, the gpa requirement would be FAR ABOVE a 2.5, and letters of recommendation would not just be Soror/Service/Scholastic and one of each [although I know not all orgs even require THESE three letters from a candidate] they'd also require some type of fitness of character, and the requirements for the letters would be much more demanding. Our Founders used to compete for the highest GPA, and would not add chapters at schools that had less than a B [3.0] average, initially it was A. But even with the school having a B average, most would hesitate to accept ppl with anything near a 3.0. And unity?!........ have you been to a coming out show/stepshow lately?! it's not EVERY org on EVERY campus, but in EACH org there are SEVERAL chapters that are NOT about promiting unity!

Now this is something I KNOW to not be true! For instance, law school, in 1997, the median LSAT score for those admitted to Yale was 164, in 2004 it was 173, before 1997 it was far below that, the same trend you'll see in Medical School and ALL other grad/professional programs. It is much more highly competitive to get a spot than it was even 8 years ago! So that's not something I see as a general trend. While we all do still have stellar candidates, but then there are SEVERAL in ALL ORGS who would probably not have made it 10 years ago!
It's a 2.7 to be greek at my school. That alone weeded out a lot of people.

WOW!! I tried to stay off of this thread because it was going in a crazy direction, but I just couldn't. Chaos hit it right on the nail. Don't justify your lack of discretion by saying something about "God". He has nothing to do with it. Delta business is Delta business and if you didn't learn that while becoming one then maybe you need to go back and study again.
