I don't like any President. I respect the office of President and want them to do what we are paying them to do.

I dislike hearing Obama talk and when things get a pass or are celebrated because it is Obama doing them.

For those who want to criticize Obama, please be mindful that no president is perfect. Also, please remember that he IS still human and issues affect him as well. I don't want a president who remains silent on important issues in this country. I want a president to address them so that perhaps there can be real change. And to be honest, I don't understand why any self-respecting person would not want the same.

Stop playing the fucking victim. It was never cute.

The time is, this is not an important issue. It is about a self important Harvard professor pissing off a police sergeant who loss his temper. Yes they both messed up. That being said this is not an issue of racism. Hell if it wasn't for the fact that the President was a friend of the prof, he probably wouldn't even have spoken. I honestly don't think this would have been such a big deal if the arresting officer was black. But by assuming a white cop going on a power trip was racily motivated is racist in itself, IMO.

I find Obama a much better speaker when he isn't speaking ABOUT anything in particular. As long as he isn't trying to actually make a point, just sort of trying to be "generally inspirational and presidential", it's not bad. It's when he has a concrete purpose and is trying to express it. He rambles and does the "generally inspirational" thing instead of just saying whatever the heck it is he's trying to say.

Why do I have the feeling that I'm surrounded by Republicans?

I have no idea. I am a Libertarian, and DSTRen13's comment is more about rhetorical style than any political critique. I've heard liberal (don't know that I'd term them Democrats) commentators remark that some of Obama's speeches were lacking in concrete details. But of course, he is hardly the only politician on either side of the aisle to have that problem.

Because you subscribe to political divisiveness.

He's the only current president. As with presidents before him, there should be no obvious disclaimers of "well, the president isn't perfect" or "he isn't the only politician with this issue."

Luckily for everyone, Obama's approval ratings are declining as reality has sunk in and the public is taking off the kiddie gloves. That happened before the first 5 months for some of the other presidents.
