OK, I'm going to take this opportunity to complain. Let me ask you all something--how in the heck is a 19-year-old supposed to know what she/he wants to do with the rest of her/his life? So I picked a weird major the first time. Fine. I want to go into teaching now, but the faculty at my new school look at me like I have horns and a tail, and I know they're thinking, "YOU want to go into EDUCATION?" I get so tired of explaining my "situation" to every Tom, Dick, and Harry they send me off to. Can they not just ignore the fact that I already have a degree and treat me like a regular transfer student? Everyone I talk to is like, "OK, cool, so you want to be a French teacher...buuuut why do you have this fashion degree?" What's the big deal? Why can't anyone just sit me down and say, "Look, here are the classes you need to get certified. Take them, and get certified"? No, we have to go through this song and dance with every single person in the Education department. I'm classified as a grad student, but I'm taking undergrad classes. That is not hard to understand. I just don't see why this has to be such a big production.

I feel better now.
