I have read all of Eric Jerome Dickey books and they are addictive. Don't shy away from Milk in My Coffee if you pick it up. Some points struck a nerve with me. Finish the book you will be glad you did. For those who also love his books, the new one will be out in July.
Our Kind of People is a very interesting look into a world some people are convinced does not exist. But the author is obviously biased to two organizations in my opinion. Not enough to make me stop reading though.
For people interested in reading slave narratives I strongly recommend "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl".
