On Saturday I picked up "The Coldest Winter Ever" by Sister Souljah. I started reading it at 6pm, and stopped at 9pm. I started back reading it on Sunday at 7am and was finished by 4pm, that is how good it was. What made it so good, everything. I'm a little late on reading this book, so you may have already read it. If you have not, I would say pick it up next.

I finally, picked up "Beyond Our Mother's Footsteps" which is the sequel to "Sister Secrets". It was much easier to follow but still a lot of characters.

I have been trying to find Sister Secrets and the other book written by the same author since this summer and I have yet to find either of them! I recently received the book by Sister Souljah by mistake from a book club that I am in, I was about to send it back...is it really good? Because if it is worth it then I will keep it!
Right now, I am trying to read For the Love of Money, by Omar Tyree...it's the sequel to Fly Girl...it's moving kind of slow and I really am just not feeling it yet!

Yes, THE COLDEST WINTER EVER is very good. It's so good, because it's so realistic. Sister Souljah has a way with words, and everybody knows somebody that acts like Miss. Winter.
READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to request the bookstore order "Beyond.." because they were out of stock. So if you got to B&N or one of the other chans, it shouldn't be a problem.

Redemption Song by Bertice Berry literally gave me a chill when I was reading it.
Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson, MD is a good self-evaluation book. The main premise of the book is helping the reader identify how s/he deals with change.

Read Any Good Books Lately?
Sorors and SFs,
I am in the process of reading the book "Our Kind of People: Inside America's Black Upper Class," (the title is self-explanitory therefore I won't give you a summary) and I am really enjoying it. I was wondering what good books you all have read recently and what makes them so good?

i'm always reading, but the latest book that i read is called Mama's Girl by Veronica Chambers. It's about the mother - daughter relationship and the problems that arise therein. It was very good and it even had me teary eyed at times.
