I'm not scared to travel myself. Just a couple of weeks ago I was in Hong Kong, despite the avian flu scare. (Fortunately I did not bring the bug back with me! Beautiful city, btw.) I was also overseas when the Gulf War broke out.

But, I am concerned for my husband. He is currently in Europe and due back on Thursday. Yep, his plane is due to take off just a few hours after Bush's 48 hours are up. Mainly, I'm concerned because he is flying into a New York airport. But if I made it home safe in the middle of the Gulf War... I'm sure he will too.

A lot of the local school districts in western CT have cancelled all international field trips. Some have even gone so far as to cancel all interstate trips. Yep, this means they can't go 5 miles west into New York.

To everyone traveling in the next few days - stay safe.

(It goes without saying that I hope our troops come home safe too!)
