I am in the same boat sort of in that my husband will be done with grad school in three years and then I will be on the other coast...so I have NOT told my employer that I have absolutely no intentions of being there after three years. They will find that out when it is time to move! I am sorry that happened to you, but sometimes, especially when it comes to work, your boss and coworkers should be on a need to know basis and if you don't plan on staying long, that is something they don't need to know
