I know what you mean ...the same thing happened with my company...in the days leading up to the "merger" they just went on & on about how any changes that we'd experience would be for the better...well, as soon as the ink was dry on them legal papers, I immediately lost a week's vacation (I was getting four weeks per year)...then, they switched us to some bootleg insurance that we have to pay for (we didn't pay for insurance before the merger)...& when I say bootleg, I mean people at my job (including me) are afraid to go to our doctors b/c the paper work gets screwed up, we get these humongous bills, & some people have even had the "write-off" of these bills affect their credit...and, of course, they were laying people off side to side, left & right, up & down...the kicker with that in the weekly (propaganda) newsletter that they send us they'd say "so & so has decided to pursure opportunities elsewhere"...when some of us knew for a fact that the people were FIRED! Now, they've come up with another ingenious way to screw us....prior to the merger, the company I worked for paid us monthly..those who worked for the other company were paid weekly....They decided everyone should be on the same pay schedule...I understood that & I also understood that it wouldn't be monthly b/c that's really hard for people to adjust to...So, you'd think the happy medium would be bi-weekly...Oh, no...they chose semi-monthly...what is that you ask?...that's where they can pay you every two weeks or every three weeks if they want to....& they told us literally about 3 weeks before it was to go into effect. So, after a flurry of emails, they settled on something more close to every two weeks...Great, I re-adjusted my monthly budget...Well, come to find out, they are splitting our payments for the remainder of the year into 13 payments....Now, here was my logic---we have six months left in the year (July-Dec)...two payments per month equals 12 payments...Cool, my budget could withstand that...Well, no, b/c they chose to make it 13 payments instead, now I'm getting paid almost $200 less per month ...That is my grocery, get the car checked, incidentals money...Now, what I receive in payment is almost equal to or less than what I pay in bills....So, what--I'm not suppose to eat? I knew & realized that our economy was going through somethings...but, I never thought that I'd get to the point where I literally could not afford to work at my job....I'm serious I can't afford it! So, will be talking to some higher ups on Monday! I may get dismissed, but dayum...they're asking too much!

*Thanks for this post--I had to vent!
