I know what you mean. Our youngest is going to school 15 hours away.
And it's located a fair distance from a major airport. With all the decent schools in Virginia, he picked one in the middle of nowhere. His sister also went to a school in a rural location but at least it was only 4 hours away and when I went to school 12 hours from my home it was city to city. However, he felt the best fit at this school so we will all deal.
