Our chapter changes Big Night for every class, seeing first how each new member class would be personified in the reveal - for instance, my (very sassy) class got wooden letters, but we were only handed the A and the D, and our Big was holding the matching X above her head, in the middle of a giant crowd of sisters so we couldn't see who it was, and we had to push our way through to her - it was awesome because of all the triumphant emotion when you finally got through to your Big!
The class after mine had a web of strings, the new member was given one end and her Big had the other, and she had to wind through the web - that one ended up being frustrating for the last two girls because all the others dropped their strings once they found their Bigs, so the girls had to untangle everyone else's strings before getting their own Bigs. Wouldn't recommend that one.
One we've used a number of times is the candlelight Big, where each girl receives a candle that's been decorated for her by her Big, has it lit for her, and then goes around the circle of sisters, holding the candle in front of each, and when she gets to her Big, the Big will blow out the candle. (some Bigs are mean and make the girl go around several times) I love this one, seeing as how we do a lot with candlelight already and I find it beautiful, also I got to "fake out" every single girl in this New Member class by leaning forward and almost blowing when they got to me, then turning my head to the side and letting them continue.
