I forgot about pigs feet. I eat those things like steak. I haven't tried hogshead cheese, yet. My mom says it's good, and she and like the same food, so I'm sure I'll like it. LOL at the holidays. I throw down on some holiday food.

And let's not forget hominey or grits! MMMM good!

I loooooooove oxtails. I don't eat them often.
I looooove grits. I eat them whenever I'm in a cream of wheat/grits/oatmeal mood. They are great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The British are inclined to agree with you...oxtail soup is a big thing. Oxtail is a delicious, cheap, good for you cut of meat. It's a shame most of it is wasted in the US!

Goodness, after reading this thread my three year old doesn't seem like such a picky eater anymore. He refuses anything with tomato sauce on it and all meat, with the exception of bacon and fish sticks.
Everyone else loves, but I don't really like:
Fried calamari
The Office (the show, not my place of employment. )
Nirvana
Okay, now pass that guacamole that so many of you don't like. I'll happily take it.

Well I do try sometimes to come up with a good one or two!
Oxtail is from the butt of the ox or sometimes the cow. It comes from the butt or so to speak. Depending on where you get it, it can be beefy and it provides a lot of flavor. But like I said, when cooked right, see above!

I'm calling my folks tomorrow to ask them to buy some, so when I go home for the holidays I can try it.

And you are bound to instantly fall in love with the person that makes 'em! Tell them not to forget the hoe cakes as well (they may call them johnny cakes).
