I've actually gotten that kind of attitude on GC.

When I was a senior in college, I was continually asked, "what year are you in?" to which I responded, "Senior." Then, invariably, came, "Oh, where are you going to college?" Granted, I was younger than your average graduate, but it drove me crazy anyhow.
But yes, you do appreciate it as you get older. I've been carded three times in the last two years, and I am very, very grateful! Last week, I went to my ob-gyn, and the receptionist was shocked at my age. Look at it as good genes - my mother didn't age a bit until my daddy died.
Another somewhat racial stereotype is having red hair. I am lucky, but rubbing my hair is not going to help you! I don't have a bad temper, but if accused of it too much, I could be tempted to make an exception. Just because my eyes are hazel, not blue, does NOT mean I bleach my hair!
I could go on forever about redheaded rumors, but you all get the idea.

That is so sad. I remember someone insisting Britney Spears had blue eyes just b/c her hair was blonde.
Hair and eyes are NOT connected.

I am beginning to appreciate it now, at 28. Several of my girlfriends smoke and worship the sun, and you can tell. Most people, when we're out, guess that they're 28, and that I'm 22 or so. It's great! It really is good genes--my grandmothers all aged really well and are in great physical shape too.

This makes me laugh because I can somewhat relate. I am 50% Irish and 50% Scottish and I get asked all the time, "Why don't you have red hair?" Some people also ask me why I don't have green eyes. Really, people, do you think everyone in Ireland and Scotland have red hair and/or green eyes?! You've seen Far and Away with Nicole Kidman (who is AUSTRALIAN, btw), way too many times!
