Dude. I don't look a day over 18 IF THAT (I'm 24 and babyfaced to death). I'm wearing a tank top and shorts and converse and my tummy's showing a little (it was teeny bopper day cos the laundry ). It was made very clear prior to the comments that I was going to grad school (not that grad school students don't have kids, but dang!). Why do they automatically think these are my kids?

It's fun to be black!
I'm "cursed" (for now, at least) with babyfaced-ness also. When I was 18, still looking 13, I was working at a bank. Around Mothers Day a customer comes in and as she's leaving I told her:

me: Happy Mother's Day!
her: Thank you! And happy mother's day to you too! Wait - how old are you?
me: Uhh, 18....
her: OH! You better NOT be a mother!

I don't know how many people have told me "It's a good thing instead of having babies you're going to grad school" as if to say black women are either pregnant or doing something with their lives ... CERTAINLY not both at the same time, and nobody is not pregnant and also not doing anything worthwhile with their time and energy.
