Why do you feel hopeful because Obama was elected? What does that really mean?
Obama thread this way --------->

I recommend sticking to the point you were making about Obama being your president, eventhough you dislike him.

Yes and he smirked. I probably would've had the same reaction. I may not have been so quick on my feet to dodge them, though.

LOL, that's ok, I can take some stabs (about me or anybody), as long as they're figurative and not literal.

Well, feelings are pretty subjective, so what makes me hopeful may not make you (or anyone) feel the same. It's likely that what makes me hopeful is what concerns you. I feel hopeful because the election will bring in people and policies that more align with what I am concerned about and believe in. If the GOP had kept the executive office, I would likely have kept my deep concerns about the direction and future of the country.

Yes.

Our sitting president?

Don't support him, didn't vote for him neither time.

I think he is the WORST we have ever had in recent history.

Messed up economy

People out of work

heathcare in shambles

Education system producing dumb assed kids

and I haven't even GOTTEN to the war.

He and his admin I believe are responsible for mostly why we are in the mess that we are in now worldwide and since this year started I could not wait for 1/20/2009, regardless of whoever was voted for.

And the tip of the iceberg?

To make you go nuts?

The guy that threw the shoe?

.....more power to him.

And nothing was done to stop the slide (NCLB? HAH! Medicare reform?? WHERE?) because we were too busy wasting money in this war which hasn't really produced anything but deeper dissent towards the US as accented by the shoe thrown at Bush.

ahhh but we are circling around the carcass again aren't we.

When I looked at the video it didn't even look as though any secret service were around. Other Iraqis in the crowd had to calm the guy down. And it seemed to have taken them a while to have any effect on him.
