Does your campus have a NALFO or MGC council? On my campus, we have a mandatory orientation hosted by MGC that interests must attend. A couple of the petitioning groups were able to have "unofficial rush" at this event.
Also, your university should have preview days or campus visits. You could also ask if your organization can set up a table or assist with tours, etc.
