We have our Bid Night party Super Bowl EVERY year. Its just the way it falls on the calendar. Some years we have used it as a theme with chili and wings, other years we just go with the flow.
Bid Night is totally worth missing the SuperBowl to me, and the hubby loves it, since he and his buddies get the house to themselves!
